of the wonderful benefits of this website is being in contact with
creative people with a dream. Jacquelyn Ruffner has lived more than one
dream already in her life. She wrote and starred in school plays (she
began this at age 7!); a USC graduate with a degree in Social Science
and Communications; lived in Asia and Singapore; holds over 20
marksmanship awards; a Muay Thai kickboxing expert; and when she has
free time (rarely), she races motorcycles. Ruffner founded Warrior Entertainment in 1993, specializing in music management. The company's most ambitious venture yet is a full length feature - THE THIRD SOCIETY. We were fortunate to get an exclusive glimpse of some scenes from this action film, and it was breathtaking. Seemingly impossible shots involving a Lear Jet chase around an airport hanger were fantastic, due in part to remote controlled mini-helicopters equipped with 35mm film cameras! The whole concept seems fresh, and may just be the "kick" that domestic action flicks need now. Ruffner has succeeded in mostly all she's set out to be, and her biggest dream now is to make movies. She remarked that she once failed a course in "Practical Film Making". (Film schools...threat or menace?) I don't think that's cause for concern. |

| UPDATE!!
Warrior Entertainment was kind enough to allow me a sneak preview of the
first cut of "The Third Society". A very fast moving 90
minutes. Cool visual look reminiscent
of "Traffic". Impressed by offbeat casting of Sonya Eddy
(Nutty Professor II) as the police Captain. It works. Breathtaking
opening showcasing Austalian nature plus the 'trademark' shot of main
charactor Jones in the lake (a touch of sensualty there.) Many tense
sequences. Hats off to Ruffner for having enough generocity in giving several cast members good showcasing scenes. Great kick-boxing sequences, and some surprising touches of humor. |
